Food Security

Working with BC Housing, local non-profit housing societies, and municipalities to deliver more affordable and attainable homes across the riding. Backing the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, enhanced payments to help over 12M low- and modest-income Canadians afford day-to-day essentials, delivering $11.7 billion in additional support over six years.

Affordability & Housing

Backing the local farms and growers that make our communities more food-secure. Supporting Gibsons' Hough Heritage Farms, funding the expansion of Roberts Creek's One Tiny Farm and the Pemberton Food Bank, and working closely with the One Straw Society.

Patrick has brought the federal Agriculture Minister to the Sunshine Coast for her first-ever visit, ensuring rural, ferry-dependent communities have a real voice in shaping federal food and agriculture policy.

Protecting Our Environment 

Part of the Standing Committee on Fisheries & Oceans, securing funding for biodiversity conservation in the Átl'ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region and backing the renewed Pacific Salmon Strategy Initiative, restoring over 15.7M m² of wild salmon habitat.

Championing the historic Canada–BC–First Nations Tripartite Framework Agreement on Nature Conservation, a $500M federal investment that advances Indigenous-led stewardship and works toward bringing 30% of BC's lands and waters under protection.

Improving Transit & Transportation

Pushing forward opportunities for rapid transit between Vancouver and the North Shore, regional bus and passenger rail across the Sea to Sky corridor, and continued federal investment in BC Ferries to keep coastal communities reliably connected.

Working closely with CIRQL Ferries to advance all-electric, passenger-only ferry service for Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast.

Climate Action

Pushing federal action to mitigate emissions, including mandatory climate disclosure for large federally incorporated companies and stronger industrial carbon pricing, alongside the investments that make our communities more resilient to a changing climate.

That work has brought home more than $10 million for firebreaks in Whistler and a $117 million water security project led by the Shíshálh Nation on the Sunshine Coast.

Clean Tech & Local Business

Supporting the growing clean tech cluster in Squamish, including Carbon Engineering, a world leader in direct air capture backed by over $30 million in federal investment, and Quantum Technology, the only hydrogen and helium liquefier manufacturer in Canada, receiving $2.5 million from PacifiCan to scale up its green hydrogen technology.

The Clean Coasts Act

Advancing private member's Bill C-244, introduced Sept 22, 2025, passed second reading Feb 25, 2026, and now at the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development.

It amends the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act to close loopholes on unintentional marine pollution and stop owners from offloading vessels onto buyers who can't maintain them, addressing the roughly 1,400 derelict boats currently in BC waters.

Strong Tourism Sector

Co-Chairing the All-Party Parliamentary Tourism Caucus, Patrick works across party lines and with partners like Destination Canada to grow Canada's visitor economy and secure the federal investments, infrastructure, and labour pathways that tourism communities depend on.

In a riding with the country's largest tourism economy, over 15% of jobs and 3000+ businesses tied to the sector, that work has translated into wins like the announcement of the $485 million federal Tourism Relief Fund.
